Act 6 continued is The Gospel Mandate of Reconciliation in which our identity is changed as “Beloved Child of God”, and all ‘lenses’ and ‘labels’ through which see people are changed – we see people as loved by God.
We need community support and accountability in doing our spiritual practices, in our journey of progressive transformation in being and becoming who we are: God’s Beloved
“Transformation 1 – How God changes us” introduces the ‘praxis’ (practical application) of Being the Beloved. After a recap of the basic framework and practices of being free to love as Jesus loves, Alexander introduces how God transforms us into love.
Becoming the Beloved is about claiming and appropriating the truth of our identity in Christ as God’s Beloved son/daughter. The practical “how to’ is as clear as ABC!
The Life of The Beloved goes back to the historical Jesus, how his (and our) identity was tested via three temptations, and how his life (as The Beloved, and ours) is Taken, Blessed, Broken and Given
YOU as God’s Beloved addresses the transformation of our identity and destiny through Christian baptism, which was modelled on Jesus’ baptism.
“Jesus as THE Beloved” is the third teaching in Being the Beloved – A Year of Spiritual Formation. It’s about how Jesus experienced God’s love in his humanity, from birth to his baptism in love, and throughout his ministry.
Being the Beloved – THE FRAMEWORK – gives the big picture for what it means to become God’s Beloved, in terms of the vision and values, and the priorities and practices
“Being the Beloved – A year of Spiritual Formation” is the chosen theme for Following Jesus congregation for 2014. It’s all about learning to live in and from God’s love.
